Nickelodeon Social Programs Identity
When we were asked to create an identity for Nickelodeon’s social programs, we knew we had to strike the perfect balance.
Originating as “The Big Green Help” (a program for kids to nominate their local parks for equipment and beautification), Nick’s social programs had been wildly successful and had expanded, creating the need for a more overarching, flexible identity that could cover a variety of social issues for kids, such the environment, urban beautification, bullying, nutrition and fitness, and acceptance.
On one hand, the identity couldn’t look too, well, kidlike. It had to be somewhat sophisticated, given the types of programs it would be used for. On the other hand, the identity couldn’t be too serious, too corporate. Otherwise, it just wouldn’t feel like “Nick.”
The identity we created for “The Big Help” (the new program umbrella name) is colorful and playful, yet somewhat refined. It’s highly flexible, giving Nickelodeon and its partner agencies a design they could be very creative with, no matter the program or event.
