The Richards Group
RBMM was asked to design the signage and consult on the interior design for advertising agency The Richards Group’s new headquarters building in Dallas, Texas. The 18-floor building was designed by the Dallas office of architecture firm Perkins+Will, whose design was largely influenced by The Richards Group founder and CEO, Stan Richards, himself.
RBMM designed the paint scheme, signage, and floor numbers signs. Because the interior design was going to take advantage of natural and raw materials textures (reclaimed wood, polished cement floors, exposed ceiling, etc.), we wanted the paint scheme to add some color and liveliness to the environment to juxtapose with those raw textures. Starting with The Richards Group’s trademark red color, we assigned each floor a color emanating from the red, going from a cooler reddish-purple on the top floor (18) to a warm yellow on the agency’s bottom floor (11). The parking garage levels continued the spectrum, with floors 2–10 in green and blue hues.
